Project Details

Wadalba Community Houses is a project designed to accommodate clients with special needs such as intellectual and or physical disabilities. The project was create by the Department of Aging, Disability & Home Care as one of a couple of facilities where their current residents from Peat island will live.

Wadalba Community Houses comprise 4 x 5 bed brick veneer houses, designed to accommodate clients with special needs. Although each house comprise the same features such as a disabled compliant assisted bathroom, 4 x bedrooms with a separate 1 bedroom flat, it was essential that each house was unique in its own right. To ensure disabled compliance into and around each house, extensive external works comprising retaining walls, paths, patios and landscaping was required.

The extensive amount of external masonry screen and retaining walls, timber batten screening, and unique design has raised the standard of construction, programming and quality that the Department of Aging, Disability & Home Care now expects on all future projects.
